METEOR offers a five-year graduate research programme consisting of a two year research master programme and a three year PhD thesis research. The graduate research programme is designed to provide PhD’s with an advanced knowledge of the functioning of firms and markets. In addition it stresses the importance of acquiring methodological skills in order to execute sound research. The PhD programme enables Research MSc graduates to deepen their knowledge of their chosen area of specialisation. About 90 PhD’s are enrolled in the PhD programme, all in a different phase of their doctorate, conducting their own independent scientific research based on one of the six research programmes of METEOR. The PhD’s have access to several research facilities as well as a multidisciplinary faculty working on different aspects in the fields of business and economics. Applications for the PhD programme are welcomed from qualified candidates wishing to undertake research on a specific topic within one of the faculty’s broad research areas. In order to qualify for a PhD position you should meet the final attainment level of a Research Master. Research MSc graduates in Economics or Business can apply for direct admission to the three-year PhD position. MSc graduates in Economics or Business can also apply for a PhD position. However, before starting the PhD programme, you should first apply and be admitted for a Research Master programme. In the Research Master application you can ask for exemptions. All other students who have successfully completed a Bachelor or Master degree in Economics, Econometrics, Business Administration or a related area, and wish to pursue a PhD, should also apply to one of the Research Master programmes. Click here for more information on the Research Master programmes. More information about the admission requirements can be found in the brochure 'Graduate Programme 2008/2009', which will be available soon.
Application deadline: 18 March 2009. The METEOR Management Team will evaluate your admission forms and inform you of any further steps.
